Update On Surveys 8/13/18
I started this in January and spent maybe 6 weeks playing with surveys. My final decision is that it was not worth my time. Granted there are so many survey sites and options available to play around with that I may not have given it enough time.
I did make a little cash and on Swagbucks you can get discounts on purchases and such but I felt like the return on investment (my time) was not really worth it.
My final verdict as I am done with surveys is that if you enjoy giving your opinion and just like spending time online, money is not your main motive then surveys are a good way to earn a little fun money and an enjoyable way to spend your time. If like me you are looking for a income stream to supplement your lifestyle then they are not the place to be.
SURVEYS FOR CASH
Is This A Real Thing?
This is going to be a work in progress but I really wanted to put it up as a post just to get it out there. I was fascinated when I started to delve into this topic and know that there is a lot of information, but rather than wait until I had it completely finished I thought I’d put it up and just keep adding to it.
Today I went online and googled the above question about making money online doing surveys, and I found out that it is a thing. That said it isn’t likely going to replace your day job but it is a way to get a little extra cash, maybe some gift cards, or possibly some free product to test. So if you are a multitasker and like to do things on your computer while watching TV or you just have extra time on your hands and like to hang out online this could be a new thing for you.
Where Do You Start?
There are a few things you might want to do before you jump in. When I first started this I had no idea that there were dozens, actually probably hundreds of sites that you can join to do surveys. Figuring out which ones are worth your time can eat up a lot of time. My hope is to rank them for you and give you the top 20 but I am just starting my search so check back for updates.
In the meantime, check out other reviews on different survey sites, also see if they have a social media presence and see what they are sending out and how people are responding. If they are promising an income of thousands a month that is a huge red flag. You can make money doing surveys but it is usually just a few dollars an hour, like I said earlier you aren’t likely to replace your day job. The adage that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is fits well here.
I would also set up a separate email account. I encourage you to join multiple sites and you are going to want to keep those emails separate so as surveys come in they are easy to find.
What are some of the sites?
Just to get you started here are a few I have checked out, I will also just add a list of others and you can do some of your own research until I get up to speed. It doesn’t cost anything to join them and you can you unsubscribe if they aren’t worth your time so it seems to me that you don’t have much to lose except for some of your time. Again if you are thinking this is the golden ticket I am not so sure this is the thing you are looking for, but if you like to give your opinion and have an impact on marketing it could just be fun and you earn some extra play money.
It does look like most have the option to earn by inviting others to join so that could be another stream of income especially if you are active on social media yourself.
Paid Viewpoint – Earn cash for surveys, get $1.00 just for signing up. Cash deposited in your paypal account. You can also earn money by referring friends to sign up.
Pinecone Research – Cash for surveys, need to be invited to join. They supposedly have fewer surveys but you can from time to time get free products to test.
Swagbucks – I signed up for this one but it seems a little confusing to me. You can earn cash on this site or gift cards from surveys or for watching videos. They look like they also have discounts on products and at local businesses. You can earn rebates on purchases. I did a 5 minute survey and got 8 swagbucks, which works out to 8 cents. So like I said, test things out and see if they are worth your time.
Toluna – You can earn cash and/or gift cards by taking polls and surveys. You need at least $5 in your account to request payment. This one looks like it has potential, they send out to you when they have a survey ready, but it looks like they only take a certain number of responses, so you have to be on top of checking your emails or alerts.
Small Business Knowledge Center
Okay those are just a few to get you started. I plan to give more detailed information as I build this page. Some of the sites are geared towards a certain demographic so some may not be worth your time, again as I build this out I will give you that info, so please check back from time to time and if you have input or have a site you want a review on let me know.
Here is also a link to a product that
There is a product that spouts that you can earn thousands each month for taking surveys online, click on the either of the links and it will take you to that site. It totally looks like a scam and as I said earlier if it looks too good to be true it likely is.
It’s not likely that you will earn more than minimum wage doing surveys online. So do your due diligence on products that promote big money on anything working from home.
